2019

Samantha King was born to sing the blues. Winner of the 2018 Edmonton Blues Society's Memphis Bound Blues Challenge along with Jimmy Guiboche, Marc Beaudin & Sandro Dominelli  (The YEG TRIO) Samantha has been on a whirlwind adventure as her group headed to Memphis, Tennessee in January 2019 to compete in the 35th International Blues Challenge among over 200 acts. The prestigious annual event is host to over 200 acts from all over the globe, competing for the opportunity to perform at some of the worlds most recognized Blues festivals and events. Samantha King & The YEG Trio were grateful to make it to the Semi-Finals of the competition and perform in front of hundreds of music industry moguls. 

Samantha was hired by Aquila Productions in 2010 to take over the official duties of anthem singer for the Edmonton Oilers. Samantha belted out O Canada and the Star Spangled Banner over 100 times in 2.5 years of home games.

   Since releasing her debut album entitled "This is Forever" in 2003, Samantha went on to be nominated by her peers at the Junos, The Canadian Country Music Awards and the Canadian Radio Broadcasters Awards just within a year of having released her first single, the title track to the album.  Her performance schedule was chalk full of festival performances throughout the country, a showcase in Austin, Texas for SXSW and a national televised performance on the 2004 Canadian Country Music Awards when he was nominated for the Chevy Truck Rising Star Award.

 Samantha's journey in music has slowly changed from Country music to more a blues,soul and rock sound. She has been working non-stop towards honing her craft through performing, songwriting, vocal lessons, and taking part in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis Tennessee, which enabled her to see and meet countless blues artists, record producers, label owners, festival buyers, radio DJ's, music director and programmers.
